2008 Zee Heritage India Festival

I was at the Zee Heritage India Festival this past weekend. It was a two day event held at the Dulles Expo in Chantilly. The event brought together the spirit of India that lives in the VA, MD and DC area. However I met a lot of vendors who came from all over including North Carolina, New Jersey and Georgia. There was clothing, jewelry, furniture, food, music, movies and entertainment for everyone. There was also a new indian pop star who performed, Rimi Basu and a lot of amazing young talent from the local indian community. Overall it was a wonderful event and I met a lot of wonderful people. Muslim Fun Fest 08

Yesterday I, happy Laddu, made my first show appearance at the Muslim Fun Fest 08. At first I thought the weather would ruin the day but thankfully the clouds cleared up, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day for a festival. I met a lot of wonderful people. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table and for all the positive feedback I received. I'll be posting pictures to the happy laddus section from yesterday's event.

Also a very big thank you to Ismael, who helped out and modeled our best selling "Got Kebabs?" Tshirt!

hL at Make Chai Not War 08

I attended Make Chai Not War yesterday. I was able to hand out some free tshirts to a few people who did some funny stuff. I will post those on happyladdu.com very soon. The most exciting news is that I gave Azhar Usman a shirt and he wore it on stage. If you do not know Azhar Usman he is a Muslim Comedian who was on the Allah Made Me Funny tour and various other Comedy Shows. This was my third time seeing Azhar and it was awesome as usual. I also gave Rajiv Satyal a tshirt, who was also very funny. There were some other comedians who did a wonderful job as well and were very entertaining. It was non-stop laughter and I enjoyed it very much.

I worked on two new designs:

100% Desi

The Brown Supremacy

In 100% Desi I created a unique design within in Illustrator and brought it into Photoshop to add some effects to it. Of course The Brown Supremacy is a play off The Bourne Supremacy.

happy Laddu Launch

Today was the launch of www.happyladdu.com! I am very excited because I believe I have found my focus for t-shirt designs. Happy Laddu's products offer humorous and unique designs related to religion (specifically Islam) and desis. There are shirts for all ages and genders (babies, toddlers, infants, kids, teens, adults, male & females). The designs are in no way meant to offend anyone but merely add fun and laughter in to our lives. I hope you enjoy the designs as much as I have fun creating them.
